THE LEAFAGE OF YEARS IS BROWN  2002

To many this painting evokes rural East Anglia but it was in fact inspired by my time on the Baltic island of Rugen, once part of East Germany. After the fall of communism many farmers on the island abandoned their land and machinery to move to the west and this tractor was one they left behind.
